Driving with lights on is required in most EU countries 24/7. You can get a ticket if you don't obey that rule in real life too. There is no fines for running them in countries that don't require em, so just keep them on, as most of us do anyway. AI running into you is either your fault or your fault.

I don't see how that helps What matters for the time you have to wait is the percentage of a light that applies to the road you drive up to it on, so what people are asking for is the light to turn green just because they are waiting. Increasing the length of the lights simply means that if you miss the green you will be waiting for even longer.
