The game can be "completed" (well, all cities can be conquered) within 40 hours. But it all depends on how quickly you want to build your armies and whether you want to go on conquests, or slowly explore the world, talk to its inhabitants, etc. However, Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord is a game with an open world and no "real ending". In the game
To make a companion a vassal first you must meet these conditions. Be the owner of a kingdom. Own two or more settlements/castles. Have a companion in your party that you can talk too. Have more than 5 gold. Once you meet these conditions follow these steps: Navigate to the settlement/castle you want to grant to your companion. With 16 companions, that's 8 groups of 2 Half of them don't like the other half, so having 8 companions that don't hate each other is the max without recruiting a potential trouble maker. #4. If they just do that than is not worth it as if i'm not mistaken some upgrades (settlements) do give various bonus like that and right now (food, loyalty, garrison xp,etc) so i guess i will unassign them and let them have their parties and likely will boost even more my income and having like extra 4 parties full sized is more than welcome on the massive battles
